Our Story

Our Story

In March 2004, three recruiters decided that they’d had enough of the traditional recruitment model. Having worked for a large generic agency for several years, they felt there was room in the market for a much more stimulating company – one that was based on quality and honesty rather than commodity and… well… dishonesty.

These three recruiters wanted to provide a service that was more akin to that of a sports or theatrical agent and chose interim project management as an area that could support such an enterprise.

Practicus was founded with the explicit aim of building a premium quality recruitment brand for Senior Level Interims across Project Management, Finance and HR. It was an untried business model but one that has experienced unprecedented growth.

In just four and a half years, Practicus has expanded from its initial three members in one office to 53 staff across four geographic locations - covering the whole of the UK. The turnover has rocketed from a standing start to a pro rata turnover of £39 million, and we are now looking to enter new markets in Europe.

Furthmore, reports from independent customer service auditing company, BenchmarQ, reveal that this growth has not been at the expense of the intial premise: a quality service for candidates and clients alike.

Growth like this doesn’t happen unless there’s something very persuasive about the company’s proposition.
